My Introvertedness

I have always considered myself shy and introverted (the shyness a fear of judgement, the introversion my loner attitude), yet I never quite realized how much introversion played a role in my life. I thought it had more to do with my social situation than my tendency to get lost in my own thoughts. I'm not anti-social, but my social requirements are clearly different from the average person. I came to understand myself a bit more after reading the article from http://www.carlkingdom.com/10-myths-about-introverts. It pretty much summarizes information from one of Marti Laney's books, "The Introvert Advantage". I'm thinking of reading the book myself after I finish my current book. It should help me understand (at least scientifically) why I have always acted the way I do. I could be sensitive to dopamine.

Update

I was successful at creating the globe, but there were some issues. I cannot freely move it, it is always stationary in the program. I can change the perspective, but it will always remain a picture (I really want one that revolves. The big issue that I became painfully aware of is that my map needs to be a rectangle instead of a square. I need to greatly increase the polar ice caps and then trim the top and bottom of the map. I will post an updated map and the globe version once it's complete.

The Complete Map

The 8-bit masterpiece is complete. Now I can mess with the presentation in Photoshop and attempt to make a globe in Adobe Illustrator. Hope it all works out.

The Power of Photography

I was at the Duke Gardens yesterday and took several photos. I'm only average at photography, but managed to get a few great shots in my opinion. First we have a photogenic duck.

Next we have a squirrel patching up its roof of leaves.

This is my final favorite, a picture of the lake with a Japanese bridge in the background.

New Map Update

Still under construction. The shape of the last continent is mostly done, although I'm not entirely happy with it yet. The last step is to work on water depth and decide if there should be any more islands.

Small Project

I decided I wanted to create images for things in Part 3. Here is part of Philos's journal for instance.

Map update

I'm going back and forth between writing Part Four and updating the map. As some of you may know, I'm making a map of Patmos in Minecraft. When that is complete, I will make some adjustments in Paint and Photoshop. Here is what I have so far:

North is Skiven, west is Aglondon, in the center is going to be Hlendvlask, south of Aglondon is Hyllutha and the last continent which is being constructed has not been named yet. As you can see, the colors of the water will represent depth. I'm hoping I can find some sort of program that can wrap the map around a globe.

Another Update

The first book just got a major update (which Amazon is currently publishing). Two long poems about war are being added. The first is about Solomon's past and his first battle. The second is about the battle with the Consumer of Worlds. I personally love them and think they add a bit more excitement to the story. I believe it adds 5 pages onto the kindle version, but I don't know how much longer the book length will be in the description.

Misc. Info After Publishing

I'm using this blog once again now that I have started publishing for the first time. The blog will mainly be used to provide updates to those who are interested in the eBooks I am writing. If there are any readers that want to ask questions or make comments, go right ahead. Onto the updates.

The Appendices in Part Three will be expanded soon. I noticed one or two topics that I left out before, so I am currently fixing this issue. The main problem is having Jielgrulf mention the Permaforge of Keilruuni and then not describing what it is later. This is a bit confusing if there is no context for it.

Part Four is currently being written, although it is going a bit slowly. I have a few long poems and a growing outline for the story, but there is still much to work on. This book will focus on the time right after Part Three, but before chapter 5 when time is accelerated. The story will be centered mainly on what goes on in Aglondon, although Hlendvlask will be involved as well. There are also more clues as to what went on during Rhinesvelt's arrival and this chapter should contain the very first Day of Whispers. Remember that the gods did not directly clash in the previous book, so we still have that to look forward to.

I am in the process of creating a map so that it is easier to imagine what the world is like.

I think it is obvious that Part One feels too short. I actually added on to the story before publishing because I did not want to rip people off with too little content (I originally wanted to make Part One free, but the minimum price was 99 cents). I feel like I still haven't added enough, so there may come a time when Part One gets a big update.
